Grace in Action: The Transformative Leadership of Dr. Cameron Belk
There are leaders who command from the back, and then there are those who stand at the very front of the battle for our community. This month, we are honored to recognize Dr. Cameron Belk as our Vanguard of the Month.
A military veteran and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate in Leadership from Kingdom Heritage Christian University, Dr. Belk doesn't just hold a title, he lives a mission.
From a Cell to a Calling
Dr. Belk’s leadership is rooted in a powerful, transparent testimony. He speaks openly about his past incarceration, not as a point of shame, but as a witness to God’s transformative favor. Today, he uses that lived experience to lead our Prison Ministry, reaching back to pull others toward the same light that changed his life.
The 5:00 AM Servant
While most of the city is still asleep, Dr. Belk’s day begins at 5:00 AM in intercessory prayer. His passion for the homeless isn't just a program it’s personal. You will often find him:
Cooking and feeding those on the streets with a chef’s care.
Advocating for the vulnerable to ensure they aren't forgotten.
Praying over our city before the sun rises.
Shaping the Next Generation
His dedication doesn't dim as the day goes on. Monday through Friday, Dr. Belk leads the After-School Edge program. He is there every afternoon, ensuring our children complete their homework assignments and receive a hot meal, providing the stability and mentorship they need to thrive.
Our Sage and Primary Shield
Within the ministry, Dr. Belk wears many essential hats. He serves as the Chief’s Adjutant, acting as the Sage and Primary Shield (Armor Bearer) to the Chief Apostle. Whether he is leading the grant writing and funding team for the Matthew 25 Ministry, overseeing church transportation, or stepping in to teach Sunday School, his discipline and Servant’s Heart are the backbone of our work.
"I was in prison and you visited me... I was hungry and you gave me something to eat." Matthew 25 KJV
